TO: UIU Employees
SUBJECT: President’s Announcement – Return to Work Date Modified on July 27, 2020

The purpose of this message is to communicate a revised date for face-to-face work. Upper Iowa University puts the health and safety of our employees and students first as we prepare for a return to face-to-face learning on August 31. Our original plan to return employees to face-to-face work on Tuesday, July 7, is being modified to Monday, July 27 due to the recent escalation of COVID-19 cases.

Employees wishing to return to their physical workplace prior to July 27 should contact their supervisor first to receive approval. All return to work guidelines outlined in the recent Safe Colleges training will need to be followed when working at a UIU location.

All UIU employees and students play an important role in maintaining a safe environment when return to work and face-to-face learning resumes. Please be mindful of your health daily by practicing good hygiene and hand washing, maintaining appropriate distancing when possible, wearing face coverings when in group settings or when distancing is not possible, and self-isolating if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Again, we all must do our part in helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Thank you, and have a safe and smart 4th of July weekend!

Bill
